Susan Ayotte is a fiction writer from Dallas, Texas. Susan has received fellowships and scholarships from the Sewanee Writer’s Conference, the Jentel Foundation, and the Juniper Writer’s Conference. Her fiction has been published in a number of journals, including twice in TLR:The Literary Review and most recently in Hindsight Magazine and was anthologized in the 2015 collection Her Texas. She’s been nominated twice for a Pushcart Prize. She recently collaborated with M Gallery Hotels in Brazil and Vietnam to provide bespoke bedtime stories for their clients at turndown service.

In 2020, her short story “Saudades (For Amy)” about Amy Winehouse’s comeback concert in Rio de Janeiro was added to Short Edition’s short story vending machines and is currently available in Europe, Asia, and other places around the world. She is working on her first novel, 27 Queens, which reimagines the complex connection we have with our companion insect, the honeybee. Susan teaches in the English department at Southern Methodist University.
